Battery life and charging speed are among the biggest complaints for Samsung’s folding screen smartphones. Samsung stated that it has addressed these issues in the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 models. Galaxy Z Flip4 comes with a larger capacity battery (3700mAh) and faster charging (25w), while Galaxy Z Fold4 is powered by a 4400mAh battery. Both phones feature the more power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor.

Galaxy S22 Ultra reached a temperature of 50 degrees!

The Galaxy S22 Ultra was the first phone to run out of battery in the test, which consisted of gaming, surfing the Internet and using social media. It was able to last for 8 hours and 56 minutes on a single charge and reached a temperature of 50 degrees. Galaxy Z Flip4 was able to last 9 hours 56 minutes and reached a temperature of 42 degrees. Galaxy Z Fold4 lasted for 9 hours and 18 minutes on a single charge and reached a temperature of 39 degrees.

Both new folding phones managed to outlast and stay cooler than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It turns out that the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor is better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in terms of energy efficiency. TSMC’s 4nm processor looks much better than Samsung’s 4nm processor.

If we talk about other phones that entered the test; The OnePlus 10 Pro lasted only 1 minute longer than the Galaxy Z Fold4 but ran hotter (45 degrees). Xiaomi 12S Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor turned off after 9 hours and 38 minutes, but reached a temperature of 44 degrees. The iPhone 13 Pro Max had the best battery life at 10 hours and 35 minutes, but ran slightly warmer (40.5 degrees) than the Z Fold4.
