The smartphone industry came up with a radical change a few years ago. On the one hand, the US-based technology giant Apple, on the other hand, South Korean Samsung, decided to remove the chargers from their smartphones. Although the reason for this decision was shown as environmentalism, according to industry sources, the real reason was the desire to reduce costs. Logistics costs, in particular, dropped drastically with the charger out of the box. As a result, the boxes got smaller.
Samsung has chosen this decision on high-end models for the time being. For example, when you buy a Galaxy S23, there is no charger in the box, but when you buy a model from the Galaxy A or Galaxy M series, the charger comes out of the box. The latest news reveals that Samsung will expand the scope of this decision. Now even the cheapest models will not have a charger. This may put Samsung’s competitors one step ahead. Because other manufacturers of the Android ecosystem have not yet made such a decision for entry and mid-segment phones.
The leaked images revealing that the charger will not come out of the box are as follows:
Ahmed Qwaider, who is among the known leak sources of the smartphone world, shared images of the Samsung Galaxy A14 (4G) box. When we look at these images, we see that the box has shrunk significantly. According to the source of the leak, the reason for this shrinkage is that the charger has been removed from the box of the Galaxy A14.
We tried to confirm these claims for you, our dear readers, and asked Samsung. The response we got was indeed interesting. A Samsung official has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A14 does not have a charger. According to the statement, there will be only a cable with a USB Type-C input on both ends and the phone itself in the box. The consumer will have to procure his own charger for this phone. We think that the new era, which started with the Samsung Galaxy A14, will be implemented in all models that will be released in the future.
