The Galaxy S24 Plus surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform last month. It has been confirmed that the next Samsung flagship phone will be equipped with the new Qualcomm processor. However, the details were not clear. It turned out that Samsung will use a powered version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen processor in its new phones.
How will the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor be for the Galaxy?
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip runs at a base clock of 2.26GHz and includes two CPU cores clocked at 2.27GHz, five cores clocked at 2.96GHz, and a single core clocked at 3.19GHz. These are the features of the standard version of the chip. Instead of 2+5+1 CPU cores, the Galaxy S24 chip has four CPU clusters in the 2+2+3+1 arrangement. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy has a base frequency of 2.26GHz, the first two CPU cores have a frequency of 2.27GHz. However, the three-core cluster clocks in at 3.15GHz instead of 2.96GHz, and the single high-performance core runs at 3.30GHz instead of 3.19GHz.
The powered Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy phones may not be exclusive to the Samsung S24 series. Qualcomm may release an equally powerful version of the independent processor from Samsung. For example; The Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro model comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which shares the same features as the Galaxy S23 processor.
