We know that Samsung has been working on foldable flexible displays for a long time. We saw the first physical examples of these with the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. However, Samsung wants much more and is preparing to offer flexible display technology in different forms.
Earlier this year, we shared with you that Samsung may be working on a smartphone with a “rollable” screen like the LG Rollable. The company, which adopted the “sliding screen” design according to the patent examples that emerged at that time, apparently continues to work on this technology.
According to the information shared by LetsGoDigital, the name of the phone Samsung is working on is Galaxy Z Fold Dual. As we are familiar with from the Fold series, Samsung, which follows a clamshell design in this phone, will make the screens “pullable” differently.
According to the patent example, we will be able to stretch the screens of the Galaxy Z Fold Dual in different ways. In tablet form, we will be able to extend the screen from above, and in phone form, we will be able to expand the screen to the edge. Although the drawing examples look quite fantastic, it should of course be taken into account that these are the ideas in the patent file for now. This product can be real or shelved. For now, we can say that the working process is working. We’ll wait and see.
