All eyes are now on Samsung’s next high-end smartphone presentation. Numerous rumors and news have already emerged about the Galaxy S23 series. The rollout is already expected in early 2023; but now a new leak provides some additional information.
It is rumored that Samsung will hold a full-fledged Unpacked event for the Galaxy S23 launch in San Francisco. The reason we call it full-fledged is that the event will be the first face-to-face event to be held after the epidemic.
Korean media reports that Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Unpacked event will take place in early February 2023, citing a Samsung Electronics executive with knowledge of the matter. This event, like its predecessors, will be held in San Francisco. Samsung’s last full-fledged Unpacked event was held in San Francisco for the Galaxy S20 series.
The source does not give an exact date, but other local news mention that the event may take place in the first week of February. Since the Galaxy S22 series was introduced on February 9, 2022, it seems logical that the next phone will launch in a similar time frame.
Samsung turned to virtual Unpacked events after the epidemic that started in 2020. It has since held online events for the new Galaxy S and Galaxy Z high-end phones. The company has done some in-person experiences for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 this year, but has yet to return to its full-fledged face-to-face Unpacked events.
Several other news reports that the Galaxy S23 may be priced higher than its predecessor due to inflationary pressures. We often hear rumors of price hikes ahead of the launch of new high-end Samsung phones, so it’s fair to say that these rumors are not out of the ordinary.
