According to TheElec’s report, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will pack batteries from LG Energy Solution. In addition to LG Energy Solution, Samsung will supply the batteries for its foldable smartphones that will be produced in 2023 from Samsung SDI and China’s Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), which will help prevent delays that can be caused by problems in the batteries’ supply chain.
Also, the report shows that the single battery cost is expected to be around $10-15, and the total battery cost per smartphone will go up to $30 since the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will use two cells due to their folding design.
