Introduced in 2017, Galaxy Note 8 is the first device to get its share from Samsung’s design change in the Note series. On the back of the Galaxy Note 7, there was a single camera with rounded corners and a flash. On the Galaxy Note 8, the company, which switched to dual camera installation, placed the sensors side by side in the same module.

Rumors are circulating that Samsung, with the latest Galaxy Note 20, has completely terminated the ‘Note series’. While the debates on whether this is true or not, the South Korean company broke the bad news for Galaxy Note 8 users.

Galaxy Note 8 is now vulnerable to security vulnerabilities

According to the news of SamMobile, the end of the road has been reached for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Now this device will not receive any software updates including security updates. To remind you, the Note 8 was not on the list of devices that Samsung will give three major Android updates to. It was upgraded to Android 8 and 9, after which support was discontinued.

With its removal from the list of ‘Samsung phones that will receive an update’, the Galaxy Note 8 disappeared into the dusty pages of history. Failure to provide security updates means this device will be vulnerable to potential threats. For example, Samsung fixes it when a software vulnerability is discovered on the phones that it continues to support. Thus, the security problem is eliminated. But the Galaxy Note 8 will not be such a case.

The four-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 8 received its last update in August. This update, which is a simple security patch, did not bring any extra features to the device. August 2021 became the last date for Samsung to officially support the Galaxy Note 8, which has been covered by a 4-year security update until now.
