Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ gets One UI 5.0
High-end models of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 series have now started to receive the stable One UI 5.0 update. The new update comes first to 5G supported models in Europe. With the update, flagship tablet models will get the stable version of Android 13.
Tablets also get rid of 50 privacy and security vulnerabilities in an update coming in November. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 will receive firmware version X706BXXU2BVK4. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S8+ will host the X806BXXU2BVK4 and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will host the X906BXXU2BVK4.
Key innovations include an overhauled user interface and more color options for Samsung’s Color Palette for Material You design. The company is also adding OCR, a feature that extracts text from images, to its tablet models (Optical Character Recognition) with the update.
The feature called Bixby Routines in the new update will allow different interfaces to be created on tablets for different users. One UI 5.0 also brings new emojis to tablets. The new emojis include animated and augmented reality-themed emoticons that come with the Unicode Consortium’s Emoji 15.0 update.
