Samsung, which has been curious about sharing updates to old smartphone models in recent weeks, has now given an update to a device that it announced in 2015. According to the claim of a European source, the Galaxy S5 Neo will receive a GPS update.
Update to older Samsungs: S5 Neo, A7 (2018), S10 and Note 10
According to a new report by Dutch resource GalaxyClub, it looks like Samsung has expanded its update schedule. The company, which has distributed updates to the S10 and Note 10 in the past weeks, is now reviewing the S5 Neo, A7 (2018) models.
The S5 Neo, which was introduced in 2015 and has Android 6.0.1 version, will receive an update with the code name “G903FXXU2BVG3”. It was stated that the update will include GPS fix. It seems that Samsung does not want to expose their customers using this model to the GPS problem.
Another old model that received an update was the 2018 Galaxy A7. It was stated that the update in the codename “A750FNXXU5CVG2” will close the security vulnerabilities of July. It also includes stability improvements that many other Galaxy models have received as well.
Samsung has also shared its August security update with the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 models. It was stated that 60 security vulnerabilities were closed in the new update, which deals with WI-FI, NFC, Bluetooth, Samsung DeX and Knox VPN.
While Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy A7 and S5 Neo update, it seems logical for it to fix the GPS issue for the S5 Neo. If you are still using this phone, which was released in 2015, you can check whether you have received an update.
