LPDDR5T is on the way
Although Samsung is the largest DRAM manufacturer globally, SK Hyinx and Micron’s LPDDR5T announcement has attracted the attention of potential customers. It seems that Samsung has started preparations to respond to these companies. Allegedly, at the Samsung investors meeting held in Hong Kong recently, Samsung Electronics Vice President Ha-Ryong Yoon stated that the company will start production of LPDDR5T DRAM modules next year.
With LPDDR5T, DRAM modules will be able to reach higher clock frequencies while maintaining low energy profiles. This technology, which will be especially useful for integrated GPU modules, can offer remarkable graphics performance in smartphones and low-power chips. Additionally, according to allegations, Samsung will start producing removable SSDs for automobiles next year and GDDR7 VRAM in 2025. Let’s see if Samsung can maintain its leadership in the DRAM market in the coming years.
