Technology giant Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Watch 6 series and its new foldable phones Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event it held recently. Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has been in the background with the release of these devices, may be leaving behind high bitrate 8K video recording with a new update, according to reports.

Samsung has disabled High Bitrate Videos option in 8K video recording mode

According to several reports, Samsung disabled the High Bitrate Videos option in the 8K video recording mode on the Galaxy S23 Ultra with the June 2023 security update. According to users who have installed the update, the High Bitrate Videos option is currently disabled in the camera app’s settings. You can find this feature in the Advanced Video Options section of the camera settings.

Previously, some users had complained that sometimes 8K 30fps videos could be stuck when using High Bitrate on Galaxy S23 Ultra. Therefore, it is possible that Samsung has disabled this feature because it does not work regularly. Whatever the reason for the feature being disabled, the company was supposed to mention it in their changelog.

At this time, there is no word yet from Samsung as to why it disabled the feature and whether it plans to bring it back with a future software update. However, a statement on the subject is expected in the coming days.
