Samsung will focus on Exynos processors
Recently, Samsung’s mobile communications and semiconductor solutions departments, which run its phone business, heralded that the company’s adoption rate of Exynos chipset in Galaxy phones will increase.
According to the authorities, the Korean manufacturer will turn to Exynos by moving away from Qualcomm addiction in Galaxy phones. This reveals that the company will increase its Exynos adoption rate from its current 20 percent to 50 percent and 60 percent.
Currently, mobile chip maker Qualcomm makes up the bulk of Samsung’s phone shipments with Snapdragon chipsets. The US manufacturer supplies processors for the Korean giant, and this has a fairly large share.
However, Samsung will now end this business and eliminate the need for Qualcomm. At the very least, the company aims to achieve this with Exynos’ high-end chipsets. Thus, both the cost will decrease and the processors developed by Samsung will be used in the phones.
Samsung has been working hard on processors for the past few years.
