Samsung is denying its employees access to productive AI tools on all company-owned devices and internal networks.

Samsung has become the latest organization to take a stand against artificial intelligence tools. According to Bloomberg’s May 2 report, the company will ban the use of manufacturer artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT among its employees. Samsung made this decision after uploading sensitive code to the platform.

The Opposition of Companies to Artificial Intelligence Continues

Samsung said that the interest in artificial intelligence platforms also brings security risks.

In the report, which the company sent to its employees, he highlighted his concerns about the data sent to artificial intelligence platforms. The headquarters aims to take some measures to create a safe environment to use artificial intelligence safely in order to increase the productivity and efficiency of the employees. However, the company also plans to temporarily restrict its employees’ productive use of artificial intelligence until such measures are taken.

However, Samsung stated that employees who use such tools on their personal devices should not send any company information, otherwise they may face disciplinary penalties up to termination of employment.

Samsung conducted an internal survey on the use of productive artificial intelligence tools in the past months, and 65 percent of those surveyed stated that this technology posed a security risk.

Samsung isn’t the only major company to voice concerns about emerging technology. Since the beginning of the year, companies such as JPMorgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have restricted and banned the use of tools such as ChatGPT.
