Samsung phones that will not receive the Android 14 update have been announced

Knowing how many operating system updates and security updates you will receive while buying a smartphone and tablet also means the lifetime of the device. Samsung upgraded its firmware support policy from 2 to 3 years, then also committed to support some devices up to 4 major OS upgrades.

Galaxy S21 series (including S21 FE) and every subsequent S flagship 4 are eligible for OS upgrades. The same goes for Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A73 and later models. So, will your Galaxy phone or tablet get Android 14 and One UI 6.0 update?

According to the list announced by SamMobile, the following Galaxy phones and tablets will not receive the Android 14 operating system update. These devices will continue to use the Android 13 operating system, but they will continue to receive security updates for a while.

  • Galaxy S10 Lite
  • Galaxy S20 FE
  • Galaxy S20 / Galaxy S20+ / Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Galaxy Note 10 Lite
  • Galaxy Note 20 / Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

Samsung has not yet confirmed when it will release the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra will likely be the first phones to get Android 14 and One UI 6.0, followed by legacy S-series flagships and the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, which will also run Android 14.
