It seems that Samsung has made minor changes in the notification center. App icons in notifications are larger and the opacity of the background has changed. Samsung has also added OCR (optical character recognition) to its user interface. The built-in Gallery app can now detect text in images, making it easy to copy and share. The OCR feature has also been added to the Samsung Keyboard. This means you can easily copy text from the camera or photo, attach it to your email or messages.
The South Korean firm also developed the design of the Center for Security and Privacy. Most security and privacy related features are listed on this screen, including lock screen options, user accounts, find my phone, app security, Google Play system updates, and privacy features. The About Phone section now shows a picture of the device.
Samsung has also added two new gestures to its labs section: swipe for split-screen multitasking and swipe for popup view. One UI 5.0 quick settings section also shows currently active applications.
One UI 5.0 has improved the speed and fluency of transitions along with animations. It is said that Samsung has not added many features to One UI 5.0, it will bring more design changes and features with One UI 5.1 early next year.
