Samsung, one of the first companies that comes to mind when it comes to smartphones, continues to come up with brand new phones equipped with advanced technologies every year. The technology giant recently brought its new foldable phones Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 to us.
While the S23 series, which Samsung will release next year, is eagerly awaited, new leaks have emerged about what the company is planning for its phones in the future. In the allegations spread on social media platforms, it was stated that the South Korea-based manufacturer plans to remove all buttons from its phones.
All-touch Samsung phones may arrive in 2025
According to the leak, the company is looking to remove a feature we see often in modern phones over the next few years. Accordingly, Samsung phones, which are expected to be released in 2025, will not have any buttons, instead, all touch technologies will be used. It is also among the information that the Galaxy S25 series may be the first smartphones of the company with this technology. Of course, the rumor is not based on any official source; So it should be added that it may not be real.
We can say that a phone consisting entirely of touch screens without physical keys such as power buttons and volume buttons can have a thinner and more stylish appearance. However, this kind of device also brings some question marks to our minds. How to turn on the device, how to turn it off or restart in case of freezing are just a few of these questions. If the company wants to switch to touchscreen completely, it should find solutions to these issues; because the keys have very important functions in current phones.
Another technology giant Apple has made a similar move on MacBooks before; however, it did not receive very positive feedback. The ‘ESC’ key on the devices released in the past years has been removed by adding the touch screen ‘touchbar’. The decision drew the reaction of many users and caused the company to be criticized. Apple also brought the ‘ESC’ key back to its new devices after what happened.
This shows that no matter how advanced touch technologies become, we may still need keys. So what do you think about the claims that Samsung can remove the keys? You can share your thoughts in the comments.
