As it is known, Apple introduced the new iPhone 14 family last week. One of the most striking features of the new phones is undoubtedly the satellite connection support. Now it turns out that Samsung, one of the giant names of the smartphone industry, is working on a similar feature.
SOS feature may come to Galaxy devices
According to a report by Phonearena, Samsung plans to bring the satellite connectivity feature to upcoming Galaxy devices. It is not yet known whether this emergency feature, which will enable emergency calls to be made in areas where cellular network is not available, will be available in the Galaxy S23 series.
Samsung may produce phones without physical keys
According to reports, the Apple SOS feature, which will be used in iPhone 14 and future iPhone models, will be supported by Globalstar, a US-based satellite communications company. However, while Apple is expected to use 85 percent of Globalstar’s current network capacity, Samsung may turn to a different service provider than its rival.
It is also worth noting that the satellite connection support, which came to the fore with the iPhone 14 family, was first introduced with the Huawei Mate 50 series. Earlier in September, the Chinese company announced that its new phone series will be able to share location and message by connecting to the Beidou satellite network, which provides global positioning service.
