A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced that Samsung might introduce a new color option for the Galaxy S22. Later leaked images revealed that this would be a new shade of purple. Now, Samsung has officially launched this new color option.
Samsung has also offered phones in various shades of purple in the past. Bora Purple can be seen as the latest version of this attractive color. If you’re wondering what bora means, it’s a Korean word for purple.
Samsung says the purple color epitomizes what the company stands for. That is, “embracing individuality, pushing boundaries and constantly innovating within a philosophy of openness.”
Purple colors offered in the past have included options such as the Orchid Gray Galaxy S8, Lilac Purple Galaxy S9, Violet Galaxy S22 and Lavendar Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Bora Purple has a bright and eye-catching shade, slightly different from all previous versions of purple. Samsung says it’s designed to spark joy and creativity. Sonia Chang, VP of Global Brand Marketing Group at Samsung Electronics MX Business, emphasizes that Bora Purple’s pastel and neutral tones “include a sense of optimism and calmness.”
In addition, Chang says that while this color option is first available for the Galaxy S22, it will also be available for new Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.
Galaxy S22 Bora Purple will be available for purchase starting August 10. Previous rumors had said that this color option would be available for all three Galaxy S22 models.
