Samsung, one of the giants of today’s memory industry, introduced a new memory technology that will enable users to offer 512GB capacity in a single DDR5 RAM module.
Efficiency is rising
By making the Layer Stacking Memory Packing Technology used in its DDR4 memory more efficient than the shared ones, Samsung will greatly increase the capacity in its new DDR5 modules. However, by increasing the number of 4 layers of DDR4 RAMs up to 8 in DDR5 modules, the company has succeeded in making the patterns 40 percent thinner.
In addition, the company, which also reduced the integrated chipset from 1.2 mm to 1.0 mm and reduced the layer spacing of the memories, will produce a single DDR5 512 GB RAM module with 8 interconnected layers. . Saying that the new DDR5 technology is twice as fast as the previous generation and will offer speeds higher than 6400 Mbps, Samsung aims to offer 30 percent power efficiency compared to the increase in performance.
One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 may arrive sooner than expected
However, it is not yet known when the new technology, which is expected to be used by data centers, smartphone and laptop manufacturers first, will come to the consumer side.
