Samsung has officially introduced the new members of the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A13. While the Galaxy A13 is by far the cheapest model, the Galaxy A73 impresses with the features it offers
Galaxy A73 Features
Galaxy A73 5G, the model leading the series, comes with a large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The 32-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture is placed in its own hole at the top of the screen. The screen refresh rate is 120 Hz. The under-display fingerprint sensor takes its place on the phone.
The main camera system of the phone has 4 sensors. 108-megapixel main sensor (f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS)), 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture), 5-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture) and 5-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture) ).
Equipped with the Exynos 1280 chipset, the phone offers 128 or 256GB storage options that can be expanded with a microSD card up to 1TB. The amount of RAM is 6GB or 8GB.
Samsung offers a 5,000mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support in the Galaxy A73. But in a first for the Galaxy A series, you won’t find an in-box charger this year. So you have to settle for just one data cable.
Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G Features
Similar to A73, A53 5G and A33 5G models are also Exynos 1280 supported with 6GB or 8GB RAM It comes with chipset. Both phones have microSD card support up to 1TB. Internal storage areas are 128GB or 256GB. 5,000mAh battery with maximum 25 watt fast charging feature finds its place in both phones. However, in these models, the fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the phone, not under the screen.
Galaxy A53 has again a quad main camera system: 64 megapixel main sensor, 12 megapixel wide angle sensor, 5 megapixel macro camera and 5 megapixel depth sensor. The front camera of the phone offers a resolution of 32 megapixels
The camera system of the Galaxy A33 consists of four parts: 48 megapixel main sensor, 8 megapixel wide angle sensor, 5 megapixel macro camera and 2 megapixel depth sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels. But this time the camera is not placed in a hole, but in a notch in the form of an eyedropper.
Galaxy A13 Features
Galaxy A13’s announced price is $235. That puts it well on the list of cheapest phones.
The Samsung Galaxy A13 has an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The main camera system consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Galaxy A13 has a 6.6-inch TFT display, octa-core chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, microSD card slot, 5,000mAh battery and 15W charging speed. It runs on Android 12 and is available in black, white and blue color options. However, unlike the Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73, it does not offer 5G support. The fingerprint sensor is also located on the side.
A little note… If the name Samsung Galaxy A13 sounds familiar, it’s probably because Samsung has already launched two more. First up was the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, a completely different phone that was introduced in the US in late 2021 and also took advantage of the 5G offering.
Later, another version of the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G was seen. This phone was recently presented in India and has almost exactly the same specs as this model, with faster 25W charging.
