South Korean technology giant Samsung announced that its new processors will be announced very soon at the Samsung Galaxy A14 promotional event, which it organized in the past months. In a promotion made today, the company introduced its new processors, Exynos 1330 and 1380.
Both processors are both faster and more powerful than previous generation processors. Moreover, these processors also have features such as 108 and 200 MP cameras and 5G support.
Let’s first look at the relatively weaker one of the new Exynos processors.
Exynos 1330, the company’s processor, which is expected to be used mainly in new generation upper-starter and mid-range phones, was produced with Samsung’s 5nm technology. The processor, which has 2 Cortex-A78 and 4 Cortex A55 chips, also has a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU. So, roughly speaking, entry-level devices using this processor will be able to offer a mid-range phone feel rather than a beginner level.
The processor also comes with features such as 120Hz screen refresh rate, 108 MP camera support, zero shutter latency at 32 MP resolution, 5G and UFS 3.1 support. Of course, we’re not even talking about the Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type C support that is now on every phone.
Might be the new king of mid-range: Exynos 1380
Let’s come to the Exynos 1380 processor, which is the main bomb processor of the presentation. This processor, which is prepared for mid-high-end phones, contains 2 Cortex-A78 and 4 Cortex A55 chips. However, when we look at the GPU part, this time we see that the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, which is much more gaming and performance oriented, is included. This means that mid-to-high-end devices using the Exynos 1380 can at least compete with some high-end phones.
Unlike its “little brother” Exynos 1330, this processor features a 144Hz screen refresh rate, 200 MP camera support, zero shutter lag at 64 MP resolution, optical image stabilization at 4K 30 FPS resolution and advanced HDR object recognition features. In addition, this processor also supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type C.
The Exynos 1330 processors are expected to be used in the entry-level A and M-series phones that will be introduced the rest of this year, while the Exynos 1580 is expected to be used in the mid-range A and M models.
