Samsung Internet comes with ad blocking feature, but this option is turned off by default. The user can set the ad blocking level to basic or aggressive according to his needs. Even if the website does not support dark mode, as in the mobile version of the browser, it can view the site in dark mode.
In order to sync bookmarks, settings and open tabs on the Samsung phone, the user needs to log in to the Samsung Cloud account. However, for this, it is necessary to install a separate Samsung Account application and the login information cannot be transferred from Samsung Pass yet. There is extension support and when the user clicks on the extension button, they are redirected to the Chrome Web Store. Since the installation button is gray, we can say that the feature is not fully working yet.
Samsung Internet uses the same Chromium engine as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Therefore, the experience of using the browser is largely the same as Chrome and its competitors. However, there is feedback that the first version experienced translation issues (some text appearing in Korean), scrolling lag, and performance was not as expected.
Samsung Internet can be downloaded to computers running Windows 10 and 11 64-bit versions. You can install the browser from here.
