Announcing its new foldable phones in the past days, Samsung said that these models will become mainstream products very soon. The company, which canceled the Note series to develop the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, expects its foldable devices to surpass the Galaxy S series.

Galaxy Z models will surpass Galaxy S series by 2025

The new statement by TM Roh, Head of Samsung Mobile Experience, stirred the smartphone world. Announcing the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 models as part of the Unpacked 2022 event, Samsung announced its roadmap.

The manager of the Korean company stated that the current market conditions make it difficult to buy high-end smartphones. But according to TM Roh, Galaxy Z models will become mainstream products as foldable screens get cheaper. In fact, it will surpass the Galaxy S series in as little as three years.

Samsung Head of Mobile Experience TM Roh believes that foldable phones can stop the slowdown in the premium segment. He said foldable phones, including his own products, are rapidly adopting. He stated that the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 sold 7.1 million units in just six months.

“Foldable products will account for more than 50 percent of Samsung’s total premium smartphone shipments by 2025. Foldable devices will become the new standard of smartphones.”

Galaxy Z Fold4, which has a 7.6-inch and 6.2-inch screen, offers a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Z Flip4, on the other hand, has a 6.7-inch main screen and a 1.9-inch secondary screen.
