The yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Z Flip 5 has made headlines this time, not because of leaked specs or press images, but with a live photo that looks like it was caught on camera in the real world.
The photo embedded in the tweet shared via @Tech_Reve allegedly shows the Galaxy Z Flip 5 wrapped in a protective case. However, this case has strange markings and, judging by the way it hangs around the camera cutouts, it doesn’t seem to fit the phone very well. It looks more like one of those cases not meant to be sold but used to protect pre-production phones from damage and prying eyes.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5, allegedly taken in this photo, stands next to a BMW keychain, which has no effect on reliability. However, it still seems appropriate given Samsung’s recent deals with the Bavarian automaker.
If we look at other details that the photo shows, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 seems to have a fingerprint sensor integrated into the side button, a flat hinge and the folder-shaped cover screen seen in the previous images. The cover display features a circular Always-On Display clock.
It can also be said that the new generation Galaxy Z Flip 5 model has delivered a significant advance in foldable phone design, as it is the first phone of this size to increase the cover screen to this extent.
There is no information about when and where this photo, which allegedly shows the Galaxy Z Flip 5, was taken. Although there is no definite information about this photo and phone yet, it can be predicted when and where Samsung will officially introduce the device.
Unlike previous years, Samsung will hold its next Unpacked event in South Korea. Reports say the company will announce the phone at COEX on July 27 in the upscale Gangnam neighborhood. Samsung is changing its usual schedule and will open the curtains for its next Unpacked event sooner than ever before.
Also, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 won’t be alone on stage. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Watch 6 series are also expected to debut on the Unpacked event stage.
