Samsung continues to work on the Galaxy Watch 5 models that it will launch this year, following the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic, which it introduced last year. However, the leaks about the device revealed that it will bring an important feature that has not been found in the past years.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will be able to measure body temperature

According to the information revealed as a result of Samsung’s patent applications and design leaks, Galaxy Watch 5 will add a new member to the sensor area at the bottom of the device. This is said to be a thermometer that can also measure body temperature.

Samsung will position this sensor at the bottom so that the sun and external factors do not affect the Galaxy Watch 5 measurements. It will also be able to detect body temperature changes during exercise. In this way, it will be able to detect febrile diseases, especially COVID-19, early and warn them.

Leak sources say that Samsung plans to add the thermometer that it will use in its new smart watch to the Galaxy Buds wireless headphones in the future. It is even stated that the company will use a sensor technology that can read infrared waves emitted from the eardrum for temperature measurement. The release date of the smart watch is said to be around August, just like its predecessor.
