READING NOW Samsung Galaxy S23 will fly with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: Here are the first test results
New information continues to come from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor, which Qualcomm will announce in full details next month. According to the statements, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the Samsung Galaxy S23 may have appeared on Geekbench.

The device, which is claimed to be Galaxy S23, has been tested with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on Geekbench with the code name SM-S911U. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will apparently consist of 8 cores and gather them in 3 clusters. 3 cores on the chip will run at 2.02 GHz, 4 cores at 2.80 GHz and 1 core at 3.36 GHz.

Samsung Galaxy S23 is as fast as iPhone 14

Produced in TSMC’s second generation 4nm process, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is way ahead of its predecessor in terms of performance. Due to the performance difference between Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22, the difference between Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is 20% in single-core performance and 30% in multi-core performance. The device, which is claimed to be Galaxy S23 in Geekbench, has managed to score 1524 in a single core and 4597 in a multi-core test. For the Galaxy S22, these numbers are around 1200 and 3200 points, respectively.
The Galaxy S23’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 seems to be on par with the iPhone 14’s Apple A15 processor, although it has a lower clock speed. The new Apple A16 in the iPhone 14 Pro Max is unrivaled in the leadership seat.

Possible Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 specs

TSMC’s foundries’ second-generation 4nm process gives Qualcomm more room for power consumption, while making it easier to gain more for performance. If we accept the Geekbench data as correct, we can say that the desired step has been taken successfully.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 chip will have the Cortex-X3 performance core, which provides a 25 percent performance increase over the Cortex-X1 found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, two Cortex-A715 and two Cortex-A710 cores running at 2.8 GHz will be combined in a cluster. Additionally, all three Cortex-A510 cores will focus on efficiency. The graphics load of the chip will be drawn by the Adreno 740 GPU.
