South Korean technology giant Samsung, which is at the top of the smartphone industry, comes up with new devices every year. In the past weeks, an important claim has been made about the company’s Galaxy S series. Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Samsung will abandon Exynos processors and that we can see Qualcomm processors in devices.
In addition, there were rumors in other news in the industry that Samsung could use Snapdragon chipsets (probably Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) in S23 devices. While these claims continue to be talked about, now an explanation has come from Qualcomm itself.
Most of the S23 series will have Snapdragon
Qualcomm talked about its deals with Samsung in a statement made during its third quarter earnings call. Company CEO Cristiano Amon said, “Snapdragon will power their Galaxy flagship products. We were 75% on the Galaxy S22 series. You might think that we can take part in the Galaxy S23 and others at a higher rate than this,” he said.
These statements revealed that Qualcomm’s S22 series provides 75% of the chipsets, and we will encounter more than this rate in premium phones such as the S23 series. It was also stated in the statements that this would be global. This showed that most flagship phones will have Snapdragon.
It is also possible to say that Amon’s statements show that not all Samsung devices will have Qualcomm processors. Accordingly, only premium phones will have it. In other words, processors such as Exynos can be used on other devices.
Of course, it can be understood from the explanations that the entire S23 series will not come with Snapdragon. However, it is revealed by the company’s statements that this rate will be much higher than the S22 phones.
