The official component introductions for Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S23, which is now a short time away, have also started. First, the possible sensor to be used on the camera side was revealed.

200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 is coming

Announced as Samsung ISOCELL HP2, the new 200MP resolution sensor has 1/1.3 optical format and 0.6 millimeter pixel size. Thus, there is no significant protrusion on the camera island.

Thanks to Tetra2pixel technology, more detailed images can be obtained in 50MP or 12.5MP resolution. For 8K videos, the sensor switches to 50MP mode, minimizing clipping and creating cinematic videos.

Again, for the first time, a 50MP sensor uses DSG technology, which converts the analog signal into two different values and obtains better quality visuals. Other technologies include Smart-ISO Pro, which combines different ISO levels in a single shutter, 4K 60fps video, Super QPD that uses all pixels for improved focusing in low-light environments, and Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) that prevents distortion in bright environments.

It is stated that the Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor has started volume production, but it has not been officially announced on which phone it will be used yet. Previously, the information on the agenda showed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra model would use a new 200MP sensor. Even photo sizes can go up to 40MB. In this regard, ISOCELL HP2 is the closest candidate.
