Despite its impressive specs, the Galaxy S22’s start has been pretty rough, and new firmware updates continue to improve the user experience and fix issues months after the series’ release. Now it looks like some Galaxy S22 users have logged on to the official Samsung Community forums in Europe, describing a new issue.

Several Galaxy S22 users are reporting issues with the adaptive display and apps like Amazon Prime and Netflix. Affected customers say that even when streaming content from Netflix or Amazon Prime, the Galaxy S22’s adaptive display switches to a lower refresh rate after a brief period of inactivity.

It looks like the Galaxy S22’s adaptive refresh rate system doesn’t detect video playing on Netflix and Amazon Prime (and possibly other apps) and dynamically switches to a lower refresh rate to save battery life. Unfortunately, this battery saver also interrupts the video experience.

Currently, the number of related complaints on Samsung forums is not very large. However, it is not easy to predict what will happen in the coming days.
