Although there are those who claim to the contrary, it is getting more and more certain every day that Samsung has finished the Galaxy Note series. We can understand this from the absence of this series in Samsung’s 2022 smartphone production plan. The source of this claim, voiced by South Korean ETNews, has not yet been disclosed. However, according to the news, a Samsung Galaxy Note 22 will not come and Samsung will also stop production of phones from the Galaxy Note 20 series at the end of this year. This means that after a while, new Note phones will not be available in the market except second-hand.
ETNews claims that the main reason Samsung abandoned the Note lineup is that it now focuses on foldable phones, and claims that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 are likely to be launched instead of the Note.
Considering that Samsung’s Note sales dropped from 12.7 million in 2019 to 9.7 million in 2020, this actually seems like a consistent claim. 9.7 million is still a high number, but Samsung has set its 2022 sales target of 13 million for the foldable Galaxy Z series. It should not be considered a strange decision for the company to leave the Note series and focus on this new series, as it sees it as a growing business.
