Wanting to reach more users in the foldable phone market, Samsung has completed its work for its new models. The launch date of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 and Flip 5 models has been leaked.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 launch date revealed
According to the leaked information, Samsung will include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in the Galaxy Fold 5 model. The new model, which will come up with the version specially produced for Samsung, will use the performance core running at 3.36GHz. The other cores of the processor will run at 2.8GHz and 2.0GHz frequencies.
According to the report by TheElec, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be released in the third quarter of 2023. It is among the leaked information that the company has agreed with LG Energy Solution for the battery of its new models.
In addition to LG Energy Solution, Samsung will supply the batteries for its 2023 foldable smartphones from Samsung SDI and China’s Amperex Technology Limited (ATL). However, it is stated that the cost of a single battery will be around $10-15 and the total battery cost will be up to $30 as the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will use two cells due to their folding designs.
It is stated that the device will have dimensions of 158.5 mm x 67.5 mm x 14.5 mm – 16mm. Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be 3mm longer and 0.4mm thicker than its predecessor.
The resolution of the device, which is stated to be introduced with a 7.6 inch internal screen size, will be 1768 x 2208 pixels. The screen of the device, which will be presented with a foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2x, will be protected by Gorilla Victus. It is worth noting that the device will have IPX8 certification.
The new model will appear with the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 interface. Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 models are expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2023.
