Today, although smartphone manufacturers still maintain physical SIM card support, digital eSIM technology is expected to surpass the use of physical SIM cards. Continuing to work on new technology, South Korea-based Samsung has added eSIM, dual eSIM and DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) support to Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 devices in the USA.
It can come to other regions as well.
The new feature, which comes with the F926USQU1DVEE and F711USQU2DVEE version update for T-Mobile Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 in the USA, respectively, is offered to unlocked models with F926U1UEU1DVEE, F711U1UEU2DVEE version numbers. In addition, new models that gain eSIM support will allow the use of a physical SIM and an eSIM at the same time with the DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) feature.
In addition to eSIM support, the new update, which also brings many camera features in the Galaxy S22 series to foldable devices, is currently being distributed in stages by Samsung. It has not yet been announced whether eSIM support will come to Europe and other regions.
