Samsung has banned employees from using AI systems on their computers, tablets and phones. Since the data used by artificial intelligence platforms is stored on external servers, the company thinks that this data may be disclosed.

Samsung says there is growing interest in productive AI platforms like ChatGPT, both internally and externally. While AI platforms are useful, there are concerns about security risks.

The company’s statement reads: “Headquarters is reviewing the necessary measures to create a safe environment to increase employee productivity and efficiency by safely using productive AI. However, we are temporarily restricting the use of productive AI until these measures are prepared.”

Samsung has asked employees who use ChatGPT and other tools on their personal devices not to submit any company-related information or personal data that could reveal intellectual property. Those who do not comply with this policy will be subject to various disciplinary penalties, including termination of employment.
