Samsung app that turns your iPhone into Galaxy Z Fold 5: Try Galaxy updated

Samsung continues to work on attracting iPhone users to its side. By updating the Try Galaxy web app, the company offers iPhone owners the opportunity to convert their devices into foldable Galaxy Fold models. But for this you will need to have 2 iPhones.

Samsung is offering iPhone owners the opportunity to try their foldable device by updating the Try Galaxy web app.

Let’s remind those who don’t know: Try Galaxy tries to convince people to switch to these phones by offering users who do not have an Android device the opportunity to test Galaxy smartphones, including the S23 series, on their own devices. Now Samsung is trying to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 to a new customer base by emulating the same experience.

According to the official announcement, iOS users will need to buy a second iPhone and connect it to their own iPhone to simulate the Z Fold5’s unlocked screen. Doing so will enable “video demos” where people can see what the content looks like in full screen. The app will then enable drag-and-drop features, allowing iPhone owners to experience what it’s like to move items between screens.

As shown in the image below, users can see how One UI 5.1.1 looks between the two phones or play digital air hockey.

There’s no real way to emulate the Z Flip5’s smaller outer display on an iPhone, so trying that is impossible. Instead, you’ll be able to try the FlexCam mode, a camera feature found on both Samsung’s foldable devices. However, there is one small problem with this particular preview: We don’t know exactly how it will work.

FlexCam is essentially a timer tool for taking photos in hands-free mode. The main difference is that you can lift the phone up for interesting angles. This can easily be done on a device like the Z Flip5 by simply folding it in half, but obviously you can’t do that with the iPhone. Judging by Samsung’s description, this might just be a screen demo showing all the different angles possible with FlexCam.

Samsung’s app offers access to more general features as well as specialized software tools. For example, Quick Share to send files to friends and family, and Samsung Health has the option to preview body composition history when paired with the Galaxy Watch.

To access the demo, you need to go to the Try Galaxy website and scan the QR code on the screen. After scanning, the application will launch the Safari browser. The requirements aren’t too heavy: You’ll need an iPhone 7 running at least the latest version of iOS.
