According to a new report, Samsung and Qualcomm will form a strong partnership for the smartphone market next year. It is said that South Korea will use Qualcomm’s processors for smartphones and tablets in 2022. According to the Elec report, around 64 smartphones and tablets will be launched in 2022. Elec also announced which of these devices will be. Here are the details of that report…
In which devices will Samsung prefer Qualcomm chips?
The report also gave the names of these devices that will be released next year. Accordingly, devices in the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy Tab S8 series, Samsung Galaxy A and M series are some of them. Also, only 20 of these devices will come with Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipsets. So the majority will have Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
This year, Samsung introduced many of its devices to users with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. However, Qualcomm is looking to find a strong partner in the chip market race. On the Samsung front, the smartphones that the company will release next year are unknown. However, devices such as Samsung Galaxy A53, A73, M33, M43 are likely to come.
Returning to the main topic, 31 out of 64 smartphones will work with Qualcomm processors. So Exynos and MediaTek will run half of the phones on this list. So what’s behind this deal? Allegedly, Samsung resorted to such a path due to the chip crisis.
Samsung mostly uses Exynos chipsets in its devices. But recently it has faced restrictions. For example, the Galaxy S22 series will come with the Exynos 2200 SoC in Europe and South Korea, while it will come to the US market with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 are said to come with Exynos chip. However, the Galaxy A73 will be launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. Meanwhile, Samsung may also bring Unisoc powered smartphones next year. Unisoc is a China-based chipset manufacturer that continues its rise in low and mid segment devices. It looks like it will be an important competitor in the coming years.
