According to a report by the New York Times last month, Samsung was considering abandoning Google on Galaxy smartphones and tablets and replacing its standard search engine with Microsoft Bing, but the new claims are the kind that will disappoint Microsoft.

Samsung may have given up on Bing AI

According to the Wall Street Journal report from Reuters, Samsung has stopped discussions about changing the standard search engine and will not change the standard search engine of Galaxy devices for now. It is not known why Samsung made such a decision, but the firm seems to have confidence in Bard, Google’s ChatGPT rival.

Although this will upset Microsoft a lot, the company’s new SwiftKey update offers Bing’s artificial intelligence features to Galaxy devices. As a result of the agreement between Microsoft and Samsung, SwiftKey comes pre-installed on all Galaxy devices, and this will contribute to the popularization of Bing.

Samsung is working on its own AI bot

In the past weeks, South Korean technology giant Samsung has banned its employees from using ChatGPT within the company. Wanting to keep internal information that could leak into OpenAI safe, Samsung is working with Naver on an artificial intelligence bot to be used within the company. This bot will not be accessible to users, but it will be of great use to Samsung employees.
