OpenAI, the company that is the pioneer of productive artificial intelligence tools, excited everyone with the DALL-E 2 it would release on time. When ChatGPT was added to this, we slowly started to see the real talents of artificial intelligence. Sam Altman, who is identified with the company, was announcing the innovations specific to these two vehicles.
However, with the official and sudden announcement, we learned that OpenAI dismissed Altman without even finding a new CEO. During this event, which made a huge impact on social media, a temporary name replaced Altman as CEO. Additionally, an important name also resigned following Altman’s dismissal.
“He lost the trust of the board”
Altman’s departure from the company was also announced in an official announcement. In this announcement, it is stated that Altman was not consistent in his responsibilities and communication with the management and did not pay enough attention to them. This – according to the official statement – caused the management to lose confidence in Altman.
Mira Murati, who serves as the company’s CTO, will replace Altman as interim CEO. OpenAI continues its search for a permanent CEO in the current period. Following the incident, Altman’s statement on X (Twitter) is as follows:
Following the incident, co-founder Greg Brockman resigned.
Social media is confused at this point. While some argue that the management is unfair, others state that Altman has an exuberant personality. We will also be keeping you informed of the developments.
