After the disappointing PlayStation Showcase event for many, questions about some of the first-party games that were announced but not revealed at the event also started to fly in the air. One of these games, of course, was The Last of Us Multiplayer, which Naughty Dog had previously approved.
It soon became clear why the multiplayer Last of Us game wasn’t around. Because the statement is that the development team has been significantly reduced and the game has been postponed indefinitely.
The statement was that Naughty Dog wanted to give the project more time. It was also said that the team is concentrating on a brand new game. However, a later report by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier was that Sony has significantly slowed the development of multiplayer Last of Us and many developers have been transferred to other projects. This paints a dark picture for the game.
Bloomberg specifically states that the game has not been canceled yet.
Of course, it is a pity that the multiplayer version of The Last of Us, which is considered one of the biggest games in the world, has been postponed indefinitely. But if a veteran name like Naughty Dog saw something wrong and made this decision, it’s a fact that we have to respect it and wait.
