The Ryzen 9 7845HX, which is thought to be one of the top models of AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 mobile processor series, has been leaked. This processor is in the high-end gaming solution class, as can be understood from the HX designation. The first information about the Ryzen 9 7845HX surfaced in Ashes of the Singularity.
Ryzen 9 7845HX specs
The Ryzen 9 7845HX, seen in benchmark test results on Ashes of the Singularity’s website, will apparently consist of 12 cores and 24 threads. Previous information about the Ryzen 9 7xxx HX series has also been confirmed by this. On the other hand, the Ryzen 9 7845HX and the desktop Ryzen 9 7900X seem to use the same configuration. However, the same configuration does not indicate that the performance will be the same, it is useful not to forget this detail.
The Ryzen 9 7845HX is the first Ryzen-HX processor ever to have more than 8 cores. On the other hand, AMD will compete with Intel’s mobile 13th Gen Core series in this series. Information from Intel also shows that the number of cores has increased.
In addition, it should be noted that the Ryzen 9 7845HX will not be the top model of the series. AMD showed off the Ryzen 7000 mobile naming scheme last summer. Ryzen 9 7945HX appears in that diagram, and this processor is expected to have 16 cores and 32 threads. Probably the Ryzen 9 7845HX will compete with the Core i9-13900HX. AMD may also release another model, the Ryzen 9 79xxHX with higher core speeds. In the Ashes of the Singularity test, the Ryzen 9 7845HX managed to get an average of 66 FPS at 1080p at the highest details, but this alone does not mean anything in terms of performance. On the other hand, if AMD uses the same I/O pattern in the desktop versions on mobile, we can see only 2 CU graphics units. However, since the Ryzen 9 7945HX is in chiplet design, we can also see a more powerful graphics unit. For now, these parts are under fog and this fog will probably be cleared at CES 2023.
