The Russian Ministry of Finance is ready to support the legalization of stablecoin transactions.
Ivan Chebeskov, head of the Fiscal Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, said that according to the country’s local media, the ministry is in favor of allowing stablecoin transactions.
Chebeskov stated that the ministry evaluated the issue from the perspective of Russian business owners.
“If businesses, companies or investors need a new way of investing, a tool that lowers costs and works better, we will always support such initiatives”
The government official also said that crypto assets, digitalization and tokenization could give a chance to build an entirely new financial system.
“But we are not entirely sure it can work better than existing financial systems.”
Attitudes towards crypto in Russia are changing. In particular, the Central Bank of Russia does not have a sharp stance against crypto.
