Roskomnadzor announced the current development in its Telegram account, that there are messages promoting and inciting violent acts against Russians on Instagram, and therefore access to the platform will be restricted on March 14 at 00:00.
After Russia’s decision, Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared on Twitter: “On Monday, Instagram will be blocked in Russia. This decision was made because 80% of people in Russia follow an Instagram account outside their country. “It will separate 80 million people in Russia from each other and from the rest of the world. This is wrong.”
