Today, we witness that graphics cards with low VRAM are modified with higher memory. As you may remember, we mentioned to you that the RTX 3060 6GB model was successfully renewed with 12GB VRAM. Now the last example of this is the RTX 2080 Ti. The flagship card of the Turing architecture has been refreshed with 44GB of VRAM. Here are the details
RTX 2080 Ti modified with 44GB of VRAM
If we recall, the RTX 2080 Ti, which appeared with a price tag of $ 999 in 2018, was introduced with a 12nm process node, 4352 CUDA cores, increased clock speed of 1545Mhz, 11Gbps 11GB GDDR6 memory and 352 bit memory bus. When we look at the GPU-Z images, we see that the card has been successfully modified with 45GB of VRAM.
On the other hand, it should be noted that such a change requires a BIOS change. Therefore, although GPU-Z and DirectX confirm the memory increase, the card does not have any gaming test or benchmark results.
