South Korean technology giant Samsung made a new call to US-based technology giant Apple. In a new video shared on Samsung USA’s official YouTube channel, an open call was made to Apple over Google’s messaging standard called RCS. The video, titled “Green bubbles and blue bubbles want to be together,” was a clear reference to Apple’s iMessage service.

Apple’s iMessage service, released only for iOS users, eliminates the need for a second messaging application among iPhone users. Because high-resolution images and stickers can be sent via iMessage. Messages are also end-to-end encrypted. However, communication between an iPhone owner and an Android device owner consists only of SMS and MMS standards. Privacy is lost, sending photos and stickers incurs a fee. Here, Samsung wants Apple to give up its iMessage stubbornness and adopt Google’s global RCS standard. The prepared video also gives a clear message for this.

Here is the video released by Samsung:

In the video prepared by Samsung, we witness a text message between Romeo and Juliet. “I hate how it turned out… Can you talk to your parents?” Romeo says, and gets the following answer: I tried, but they want to keep us apart. I don’t understand you. Reacting to this, Romeo says, “What did Green do to them? We are balloons too.” says. “Literally, everyone wants us to be together,” Juliet said on this message. he answers.

Apple has no reason to change iMessage…

Apple touts its iMessage service as a marketing motive for iPhones. With this feature, users are provided with an alternative to Meta’s WhatsApp application, which cannot avoid discussions about privacy. Moreover, Apple CEO Tim Cook believes that iPhone owners do not care much about the distinction between blue and green bubbles. When we put all this together, we come to the conclusion that Apple has no reason to change iMessage.

World-famous singer Drake also made reference to iMessage in his latest album:

Let’s also point out this; The only institution that will force Apple to the RCS standard is the European Union. We have readers who know; The decision taken by the EU forced the switch to USB Type-C port in the iPhone 15 family. However, authorities cannot impose any force on iMessage. Because European Union officials evaluated the number of users and services offered by iMessage and did not describe this application as a “gatekeeper”. This being the case, it is not possible for Apple to give up on iMessage.
