The Çakır cruise missile developed by ROKETSAN was launched from the Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Baykar. The Çakır cruise missile hit the target with full accuracy. It was the first time in the world that a cruise missile was launched from a UAV.

Images of the shooting test were first shared on Twitter on May 11, 2023. It has now been uploaded to YouTube. In the images, it is seen that Çakır was fired, headed towards the target and hit the target coordinate.

In the shooting test, Çakır was dropped from a height of 7,000 meters. It flew towards the target with the KTJ-1750 turbojet engine developed by Kale Arge. He hit the target at 0.9 mach.

ROKETSAN cakir can be launched from land, sea and air platforms. It is fired without a launch engine from aircraft, and with a launch engine from land and sea vehicles. The version without the launch engine weighs 245 kg, and the version with the launch engine weighs less than 330 kilograms. Both versions offer a range of 150 km. It destroys the target with its unique warhead with high explosive semi penetrating particle effect.
