Roger Ver, a supporter of Bitcoin Cash and an early investor in Bitcoin, praised Ethereum’s potential to become a leading blockchain in global cryptocurrency adoption. Speaking on the YouTube program “Show Me The Crypto”, Ver drew attention with his interesting statements. He reiterated his belief that Ethereum is at the forefront of worldwide adoption, although it does not have the largest market cap compared to Bitcoin. While acknowledging Ethereum’s scalability issues, Ver highlighted the existence of EVM-compatible Blockchains that will ease the load on the main chain. Here are the details…
Roger Ver advocates Ethereum over Bitcoin
Joining the Show Me The Crypto program on YouTube, Ver pointed to the Ethereum ecosystem. He reiterated his views on innovations, especially NFTs. Ver said, “Ethereum does not have the largest market cap compared to Bitcoin. However, I think Ethereum is ahead in terms of worldwide adoption,” he said. He acknowledged that Ethereum has scaling issues. However, he pointed out some applications entering the market to ease the burden of the main chain. Because, as we have reported as Kriptokoin.com, EVM compatible Blockchains aiming to solve these problems have become widespread.
He also commended Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin for his leadership and for making the project what it is today. The narratives of Ethereum’s creation focus on Buterin’s realization that Bitcoin is unsuitable for the functions he envisioned, such as smart contracts and DAOs. This led him to devise a new and broader concept later on. This bill was assisted by partners Gavin Wood, Charles Hoskinson, Anthony Di Iorio and Joe Lubin.
Ethereum and Bitcoin clash
Ver explained that Buterin’s vision for Bitcoin goes beyond a store of value and medium of exchange. Still, many Bitcoin developers resisted the idea, causing conflict. With the two sides unable to find a middle ground, Buterin left with his ideas to build Ethereum, which Ver said was a missed chance for Bitcoin. “All of this would have been built on top of Bitcoin had it not been for the scaling civil war. “These Bitcoin developers hate Vitalik and they removed him from the project to create Ethereum,” he said.
Ver thanked Buterin once again, saying that he “pushed all humanity into the future”. He also said that he is responsible for making the world better. Overall, Ver’s appreciation for Ethereum underlines the competition and divergent visions in the crypto space. This leads to the development of different Blockchain ecosystems with their own unique strengths and applications.
