Some of the excellent action game mechanics that bear the studio’s signature can be seen in the trailer. The game is reminiscent of the open world game Nioah. This is not surprising, since it is directed by Fumihiko Yasuda, the director of the Soulslike series.
The trailer also confirms the game’s release date of March 22, 2024. Rise of the Ronin will be introduced on the same day as Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Princess Peach: Showtime.
The game is set in Japan at the end of the 19th century, during the collapse of the Tokugawa Shogunate during its period of oppression and stagnation. During the late Edo period, horses and gliders traveled and enemies were fought with firearms as well as swords and spears.
Rise of the Ronin will be released on Playstation 5 on March 22, 2024. More information about the game and pre-orders will be available soon.
