The decision in the lawsuit between Ripple (XRP), one of the largest companies in the crypto industry, and the SEC continues to be the scene of controversy. Speaking to the press hours ago, Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty stated that he is not worried about the possible objection from the SEC.
In an interview with the press, Alderoty spoke about the possibility of the court appealing. The XRP official believes that their victories will be consolidated if the decision is appealed. US district judge Analisa Torres had ruled that Ripple activities are not contrary to securities law.
“We think Judge Torres made the right decision. This will be upheld once again if the SEC goes to the appeals court to appeal.”
Stuart Alderoty commented that if the US-based government agency continues this attitude, it will continue to lose cases. According to the Ripple executive, the decision made by Analisa Torres will set a precedent for many legal processes in the future.
The well-known name of the crypto industry finally spoke about the regulations. Alderoty underlined that despite the optimistic mood, there is still no clear regulation in the country. The world’s largest economy lags far behind other states in this regard.
Will the SEC Appeal the Decision?
The American Securities and Exchange Commission SEC was shocked after the ruling in the Ripple case. Speaking to the press, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler expressed his disappointment with the court’s XRP decision.
Although the institution’s lawyers verbally objected to the court decision, it is still unclear whether the case will be appealed.
