SEC has filed a new motion to avoid sending Hinman emails to court.

According to corporate defense attorney James K. Filan, in Ripple’s ongoing legal battle against the SEC, the former head of SEC Corporate Finance has made another attempt to avoid serving emails regarding Hinman.

The tweet shows that the SEC has submitted a motion to keep Hinman emails private from Ripple and the judge, citing attorney-client privilege.

These emails between Hinman and the SEC’s attorneys are about Hinman’s speech on Ethereum’s legal status and occurred in mid-June 2018.

In the letter filed, SEC attorneys included two additional comments by Hinman on the draft speech previously discussed in April. He also asked permission to protect it.

The SEC in these emails asserts attorney-client privilege as SEC attorneys consult with it on securities-related laws.
