Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said he expects the SEC case to be resolved in the first half of 2023.

Speaking at the DC Fintech Week conference, Garlinghouse stated that it is difficult to predict the exact date.

Ripple CEO Predicts the Case

Brad Garlinghouse responded to an incoming question regarding his SEC case.

One of the conference attendees asked Garlinghouse a question about when the case would end. Garlinghouse replied:

“I think the judge will be fully informed by mid-November. Federal judges work at their own pace. It is very difficult to guess”

Ripple CEO noted that he optimistically expects the case to be resolved in the next three to four months. However, he stressed that it may take longer.

Ripple and SEC May Negotiate

Garlinghouse said his company could settle with the SEC. However, he stated that XRP should be recognized in a non-securities form:

The fact that SEC Chairman Gary Gensler describes most of the cryptocurrencies as “securities” also reveals the difficulty of such an agreement.
