Riot Games, which is behind many popular games such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and Valorant, was hacked last week. Now, the giant publisher announced that he received a ransom message about the attack, but that he would not pay.

Hackers demand $10 million

In its recent post, Riot Games confirmed that no player data or personal information was compromised after the cyberattack, but the source codes of the League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics video games were leaked. According to the statements, these seized files include “experimental” features that the company is not ready to share.

The company did not share information about the details of the cyber attack. However, hackers are reportedly demanding a $10 million ransom for the game’s anti-cheat system and source codes. Riot Games said, “We received a ransom email today. Needless to say, we will not pay.”

It seems that Riot Games’ biggest concern is the emergence of new cheats as a result of the source code leak. Noting that the work on this issue continues, the giant publisher said, “We are working to evaluate the impact of the attack on anti-cheat and, if necessary, to distribute the fixes as soon as possible.”
